Power Animal Oracle Readings

October 20 & 21, 2008

Bear came and Blue Heron came.

Both Brothers Bear and Blue Heron teach the medicine of introspection and stillness. The big fury bear is active both day and night telling us that we must integrate both our analytical skills and intuition. The solar power represents logical strength and the moon is one of intuitive prowess. It is imperative that we develop both from within. Of course we hear this very often but the question is how can we do it? How do we make practical what is abstract?

The great water bird, Brother Heron says one is to be quiet for answers to emerge from inside. This means when we don’t over analyze or get too emotional over a particular situation, then very naturally we are able to handle everything comfortably. There are many ways to quiet ourselves. One method is through meditation like Brother Heron who stands at rest and motionless, we too bring to a halt all mental and emotional activities. We pay attention to our feelings and thoughts noticing how an initial thought influences the way we feel. What we feel demonstrates the way we respond to the world outside of us. Thus when our emotions and thoughts are not in constant battle, we see only harmony and synergy.

Brothers Bear and Blue Heron remind us that it is not enough to just always stick to one interpretation of who we think we are. To some self-discovery is totally a waste of time because they don’t wish to think so much while to some it is mandatory. And of course in between these two extremes, there are uncountable variations stretching across this vast shapeless space. Is there a correct answer? Perhaps we should realize that at certain points in life we resonate with a particular variation and when what needs to be done is completed, we move on. So the process of introspection is not one that is akin to ascending a ladder. We may move up and down, left and right or in any direction that harmonizes with our growth. So when we feel that we are moving down, Brother Bear says that it is time to rely on ourselves, just as he relies on his body fat to survive during the period of hibernation. You are your own master. And so it is.

Blessings on our journey. Aho!
