Power Animal Oracle Readings

October 12, 2008

Turkey came and Lizard came.

Sister Turkey is a giver. Her message is “give away”. But what does it mean to give? She is showing us that she is gladly giving herself to our succulent dinner on Thanksgiving. She is not doing it because she wants to be respected, honoured and is simply feeling self-righteous. She isn’t seeking for rewards, remembrance and acknowledgement. She simply gives and this act alone is a joyous one. With this in mind, she is reminding us that we might have forgotten to generously share and probably accumulated too many things in order to win. We live in a society whereby we are strongly encouraged to earn and own more things from cars to degrees to wives!

Perhaps Brother Lizard is following us in the shadow to tell us that we could have taken too big a portion of that we were initially entitled to. We tend to fight over ownership of things that finally do not mean much to us. Some say they do it as a matter of principle but do honestly assess if this so-called principle actually originates from the ego. There is nothing that we can’t do without. When we pick one thing over another, we should be doing it out of preference and not a need.

Sister Turkey and Brother Lizard appear together in this reading to highlight a global issue of scarcity whereby we can be misled that there is not enough of everything for everyone. Thus persuaded to cling, fight and force our ways into other’s territory because we fear that things will run out. So it is crucial we realize that we do have enough and ample of resources for all. Sometimes we want to believe that things are not sufficient for many because we want to feel better than the less fortunate. Always beware of what truly motivates you. And so it is.

Blessings on our journey. Aho!
